Sunchase IV is the most amenity-heavy building we manage on South Padre Island: two beachfront pools, hot tubs, tennis courts, a fitness center, a resort library, a BBQ area, a seventh-floor sundeck and private beach access. The tower sits on the narrow part of the island, so condos here look out at the Gulf on one side and the Laguna Madre on the other. Check your dates below.
What Guests Say About Sunchase
What You Get at Sunchase IV
-
Two Beachfront Pools Two pools means the one nearest your building is rarely the crowded one, which matters in July. -
Hot Tubs on the Property The resort hot tubs are the easiest place to put a sunburn and a day of walking after dinner. -
Tennis Courts Community courts are on site, so a morning match does not involve driving anywhere. -
A Real Fitness Center The onsite gym is fully equipped, which is unusual in a beach condo building and useful on a longer stay. -
A Seventh-Floor Sundeck The sundeck sits high enough to take in the Gulf, the bay and the Queen Isabella Causeway in one go. -
A Resort Library Books and board games are kept on site, which is what saves the third rainy afternoon of a beach trip. -
Private Beach Access and a BBQ Area Guests use the community's own beach access rather than the public entries, and the shared grills handle dinner after. -
Gulf on One Side, Bay on the Other The island is narrow here, so balconies take in sunrise over the Gulf and sunset over the Laguna Madre.
Choosing a Sunchase Condo
The condos here are two-bedroom layouts with two and a half baths, each sleeping six, and the half bath on the main level is more useful than it sounds when everyone is coming in off the sand at once. What separates them is which water you are looking at and how the sleeping space is arranged.
Sunchase IV #506 is a two-level condo — an open staircase leads up to the bedrooms, which keeps the living area separate from where people are sleeping. The primary has a queen bed and an ensuite looking out at the Laguna Madre, and the guest room has two full beds with the same bay view. From that balcony you get the bay, the Queen Isabella Causeway and, when one is scheduled, a genuine vantage point on a SpaceX launch from Starbase across the water. There is a washer and dryer in the unit.
Sunchase IV #528 faces the beach side. The primary suite has a king bed and its own bathroom, the guest room has two queen beds, and the living room adds a queen and a twin sofa sleeper — so it flexes further past six than the bedroom count suggests. If you are travelling with a bigger group than either of these fits, our group rentals and the other beachfront buildings are the place to look, and the condo community guide compares them side by side.

Around Sunchase
Sunchase sits in the middle of the island, which puts most of what people come here for within a few minutes either way. The beach is out the front door and Sea Turtle Inc. is a short drive up Padre Boulevard. The bay side is where the calm water is: kayaking, paddleboarding and the rest of the watersports all launch from the Laguna Madre rather than the surf.
Because the tower faces both directions, this is also one of the better spots on the island to watch a rocket launch from Starbase, which sits across the bay to the south. Launch schedules move constantly, so check before you count on it. For the rest of the trip, fishing runs year-round and the island's restaurants are mostly within walking distance of this stretch.
Sunchase Condominiums FAQs

Two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath layouts sleeping six. Sofa sleepers in some living rooms add space beyond that.

Booking a Sunchase Condo
Availability and pricing in the listings above are live, so what shows as open is actually open.
